Terms of use

Current version: 18 March 2026

These terms cover use of the Joleri website and bookings made with Joleri Cafe Pty Ltd at 115 Beach St, Port Melbourne. The company is owned by Amelia Crowe and the registration number is ACN 746 218 953. The terms you are reading apply in 2026 and they replace any older sheet that used to be taped near the till. By sending a form or walking in to eat, you are dealing with the cafe on these terms.

The website lets you read the menu, send a booking request, and send a contact message. A form submission is a request, not an automatic confirmation. We confirm a booking by email during opening hours, and until that email arrives the table, room, or tray is not held. If we are full we will say so and offer the next time we can actually do the job.

Prices on this site are in Australian dollars and they match the board in the cafe on the day this page was prepared. If a price changes, the figure in your confirmation email is the one you pay, not a later edit to the page. We do not advertise slash-through discounts, and the house card is a free coffee or a pastry after a run of paid visits rather than a percentage off the bill. The ninth standard coffee after eight paid coffees is on the house, which is the whole of the offer and not a store credit.

The house card has no cash value, it cannot be sold, and it cannot be swapped for money. Weekday private room hire is $420 for up to three hours and Saturday hire is $560, with food charged from the menu on top. The private room seats 16, and a request for more people is not confirmed unless we say in writing that the main floor can be used. You may close the door, play music at a speaking volume, and bring a small cake if you tell us first.

Outside caterers, DJs, and extra hire equipment are not part of the room booking. If you need to cancel a weekday room, tell us by the day before so we can release the seats. A Saturday room cancelled inside two days still leaves us with food we bought for you, and we may ask for the cost of that food up to the price of the plates you ordered. We will put that amount in the email rather than inventing a penalty at the door.

Catering starts at eight people and is available as a pickup or as a drop inside Port Melbourne and South Melbourne. We do not deliver past that map, because we would rather refuse than send a cold tray across the city. Catering needs at least one full day of notice, and a Monday tray needs four days because the markets are thin on Sunday. If a drop is running more than twenty minutes late we call the number you gave us before you have to chase.

If we miss the food you ordered and cannot replace it on the spot, we take that item off the bill. Brunch and coffee at the tables are walk-in unless you have asked us to hold seats, and a hold lasts fifteen minutes past the time we agreed. The kitchen closes thirty minutes before the cafe closes, and we will not start a new plate after that even if the coffee machine is still on. Please tell us about serious allergies in the note, and understand that we cannot promise a gluten-free or nut-free kitchen.

We do not hold a halal or kosher certification, so please do not assume either one from the menu wording. Dogs stay outside, and we will put a water bowl out if you ask. Laptops are fine on the communal table on weekdays before 11 am, and we may ask you to free a four-top once the lunch seats fill. Please treat the staff the way you would want to be treated on your own shift.

We can refuse service where someone is aggressive, unsafe, or spoiling the room for the other tables. The words on this website are written by the cafe and may be updated when the menu or the rules change. Photographs are there to show the tone of the room, and the written price is what you should trust when the two seem to disagree. You may not copy the site text or the logo for your own shop.

The website can be down for maintenance or a hosting fault, and a form that fails to send is not a confirmed booking. Our practical promise is a remake or a refund of the item when we get an order wrong. We do not promise the weather on the footpath seats, an empty tram, or a particular staff member on a given day. Nothing in these terms tries to exclude a right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If a court finds one line unenforceable, the rest of the terms stay in place. We will put material changes on this page before they apply to a new booking. A booking already confirmed keeps the conditions in the confirmation email.

Questions about these terms can be sent to the email in the footer or raised with Amelia Crowe at the cafe. You can call the phone number in the footer during opening hours and we will talk it through. The contact page is for messages, the services page is for orders, and this page is the rule book those forms point at. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not send the form, and you are still welcome to read the menu.
