Cookie policy

Current version: 18 March 2026

This cookie policy explains how Joleri Cafe Pty Ltd uses cookies and similar storage on this website in 2026. The cafe is at 115 Beach St, Port Melbourne, it is owned by Amelia Crowe, and the registration number is ACN 746 218 953. A cookie is a small text file a website can ask your browser to keep so a later page can recognise that browser. Some cookies are set by the site you are visiting and some are set by other companies whose tools are embedded in the page.

This website, as it runs in 2026, does not set a cookie of its own. The booking form does not drop a cookie when you send it, and neither does the contact form. We do not run a newsletter cookie, a shopping cart cookie, or a login cookie, because none of those features exist here. We do not use Google Analytics or any other visitor counter that would store an identifier in your browser.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not retarget people who looked at the brunch menu. The menu in the header is a simple checkbox in the page and it is forgotten when you close the tab. We do not write to local storage, session storage, or IndexedDB. The typefaces are files stored with this website, so your browser does not contact a font delivery network to read the page.

We do not embed a map, a video, or a social feed that would set a third-party cookie on load. The address in the footer is an ordinary link, and Google Maps receives a visit only if you choose to open it. WhatsApp and Viber links in the footer do nothing until you click them. If you open those links, WhatsApp, Viber, or your mail app may set their own cookies under their own rules.

A mailto link opens your email program and does not set a cookie on this site. We do not control cookies set by those other services after you leave our pages. The house card is a paper card and a name in a book at the counter, not a cookie and not a balance stored in your browser. Joining the house card from the services form sends us an email, and it does not plant a tracker on your phone.

Because we are not setting optional cookies, this site does not show a consent banner. If we later add a tool that sets a non-essential cookie, we will update this page first and we will not turn that tool on in silence. Essential cookies would be described here too, and in 2026 we do not even use one of those. Your browser may still keep its own data, such as the page in its history, which is the browser acting for you rather than a cookie from us.

You can delete cookies and site data from your browser settings whenever you want. In most browsers the control sits under privacy or site settings, and the name of the control varies by browser. Blocking all cookies will not break a booking on this site, because the form does not need one. Blocking cookies may affect Google Maps, WhatsApp, or Viber after you follow a link, and that is outside our page.

We do not respond to a Do Not Track header with a special mode, because we are not tracking you in the first place. Server logs may briefly record an IP address and the page requested so the host can keep the site online and spot faults. Those logs are a hosting record, not a cookie, and we do not use them to identify regulars. We do not combine logs with booking emails to see how often a person visited before they wrote.

In 2026 we ask the host to keep routine logs for a short period and then drop them. We do not sell log data and we do not hand it to advertisers. If the law requires us to keep a record, for example after a security incident, we keep only what that incident needs. Children may use a parent phone to look at the menu, and that visit still does not set a Joleri cookie.

We do not build a profile of any visitor, adult or child. Staff are not given a dashboard of website visitors, because no such dashboard is connected to this site. Amelia Crowe is the person responsible for this policy and for any change to the tools on the site. You can ask what, if anything, we store about a visit by writing to the email in the footer.

You can also call the phone number in the footer during opening hours and ask the same question. If a page on this site ever starts to behave as if it remembers you, treat that as a fault and tell us. We would rather hear about a stray cookie from you than discover it months later. This policy is specific to Joleri Cafe Pty Ltd and it does not describe other cafes that happen to sit on Beach Street.

It also does not describe the in-store terminal, which handles card payments under the terminal provider rules and not as a website cookie. We will review this page during 2026 if the booking process changes. The date at the top of the page is the date of the current version. If you only wanted to know whether we follow you around the web, the short answer is that we do not.
