The services, with the small print

These are the five things people actually ask us for, written with the prices we are charging in 2026 and the limits we mean. The photos are the same ones on the home page, so you are not looking at a different cafe once you get to the detail. A price on this page matches the board at 115 Beach St. If a special runs out, we say so before we invent a substitute and hope you like it. Nothing here is a slash-through sale. The only free item in the building is the one on the house card, after you have already paid for the run of coffees or plates that earns it.

Each card ends with a button that opens the single booking form on this page and chooses the service for you. You still add the date, the headcount, and the note. Read the guarantee and the conditions before you send it, because those are the sentences we will repeat in the confirmation email if you skip them. If you only wanted a takeaway flat white, you do not need a card or a form. Walk in. The button is for the things we have to plan: a held table, a named pastry box, the side room, or a tray leaving the building.

Short black and a glass of water on the Joleri bar

Espresso and filter

From $4.50

The bar is why most people find the door, and it is set up so a weekday coffee does not turn into a small project. There is a three-group machine, two grinders, and a batch filter we brew before noon. The house espresso is a blend we have bought from the same Brunswick roaster since 2022, chosen because it behaves in milk and still tastes like itself as a short black. In 2026 a short black is $4.50, a long black is $4.80, and a flat white, latte, or cappuccino is $5.50. A mocha is $6, batch filter is $6, and an extra shot is $0.80. Oat and almond are $0.80 on top, written on the board so the till is not where you hear it for the first time.

Decaf stays on the second grinder from open until close, so you do not have to ask whether we can be bothered today. If the batch filter is gone after 12, we make one to order rather than pouring the end of a pot that has been sitting through the lunch rush. Takeaway is the same coffee as the cups we keep, and that queue stands to the side so it does not block the people who are sitting down. You do not need to book a single coffee. Use the button if you want a table held, or a round ready for a group that is about to arrive together. Put the time in the note, and say if anyone wants decaf, because we would rather set the grinder than guess from a headcount and a hopeful email.

Guarantee

If the coffee is wrong, short when you asked for long, dairy when you asked for oat, or a shot we pulled badly, we remake it. You do not have to build a case. One sentence at the counter is enough, and we would rather do it again than debate the definition of bitter.

Conditions

The bar is walk-in from open until close. We do not hold a single stool by text. Alternative milk is $0.80. We do not take card numbers on this website. You pay at the till, and a booked round is still paid when you are here, not in the form.

A brunch plate from the Joleri kitchen

All-day brunch

From $22

Brunch is cooked to order in the kitchen behind the pass, which is a small sentence with a large effect on how the plate arrives. The chilli-oil eggs are $24, the mushroom toast is $22, the pork sausage plate is $28, and the grain bowl is $24. A kids' plate is $14. Most of the savoury list sits between $22 and $29, and the board in the room is the same list you are reading. We change a special when the produce is finished, not when we are bored of typing it. If you want bread left off, say so. If you want the pork swapped for eggs, say that too. We can usually do the simple version. We cannot turn the kitchen into a different restaurant for one table.

The kitchen closes thirty minutes before the cafe does, even if the machine is still pulling shots and the room looks open. On weekdays that means last plates at 3 pm, and on weekends at 3:30 pm. A table of four can usually walk in before 11. A Saturday table that cares about 10:30 should use the form. We have two high chairs, so mention a baby in the note rather than hoping both are free when you arrive. Dogs stay outside. We will put water out if you ask. Laptops are fine on the communal table on weekdays before 11, and we may ask you to free a four-top once the room fills, because lunch is still the job and the table is not a rented desk.

Guarantee

A plate that arrives cold, or that is not the dish you ordered, is replaced. If a special has sold out, we tell you before we fire something else and call it close enough. You should not discover the substitution with the first bite.

Conditions

Last orders are thirty minutes before close. Book if you are more than four people or if you want a particular Saturday time. We keep a held table for fifteen minutes past the agreed time. This is not a gluten-free or nut-free kitchen, and we do not hold a halal or kosher certification. Say the allergy in the note.

Pastries from the Joleri case

Pastry counter

From $6.50

The case is deliberately short. A morning bun is $6.50, banana bread is $7, the chocolate rye slice is $8.50, and the almond croissant is $9. On Friday there is a vegan slice at $8, and we do not pretend it exists on Wednesday just because the form let you type the word. A mixed box of six is priced as the sum of the pieces you chose. We do not knock a theatrical half off a box to make it look like a deal, and we do not have a secret office price that punishes you for buying them one at a time either. What you see in the case is what we baked, or what the baker brought in that morning, and when it is gone it is gone.

After 2 pm the case is thinner, and anyone who has worked a cafe knows why. If you need a box for a 9 am meeting, put a name on it the day before and tell us what you actually want in it. We will not hold an unnamed croissant on a hopeful maybe. Nuts live in this case, especially in the almond croissant, and the bench is not separated from the rest of the kitchen. If that is a hard line for someone in your office, say it before we pack the box, not when the box is already on the tram. The button below is for a named hold or a box. A single slice at the counter is still a walk-up conversation, and it is usually the nicer one.

Guarantee

If a piece is stale, we replace it or take it off the bill. Say so at the counter or when you open the box nearby. We would rather hear it while we can still do something than find a polite complaint three days later about a bun we can no longer trace.

Conditions

We do not hold a pastry without a name. Friday is the vegan day. Nuts are in the case. A box of six is the sum of its pieces, not a discount tier. Pay when you collect it. The form only reserves the box. It does not charge you.

The Joleri private room with the door shut

Private room

From $420

The side room seats 16 at one long table, and the door closes. That is the whole offer, and it is enough for a birthday breakfast, a workshop that needs to hear itself, or a lunch that should not compete with the espresso queue. Weekday hire is $420 for up to three hours. Saturday is $560. Food is ordered from the brunch menu at menu prices, not folded into a package that hides the plates. A cheese board can be added at $48 if you want something shared on the table when people arrive. You may bring a small cake if you tell us first, so we know it is coming and we are not surprised by candles next to the pass. You may play music at a speaking volume. You may not bring a DJ, a second caterer, or a stack of hired furniture.

We confirm the room by email, and you pay on the day in the room. We do not take a card number on this page, and we do not ask for a deposit through the form. If you need to cancel a weekday booking, tell us by the day before so the seats can go back to the cafe. A Saturday room cancelled inside two days can leave us with food we already bought for your menu, and we may ask for the cost of that food, capped at the plates you had ordered and written in the email rather than invented at the door. More than 16 people does not fit. The form will refuse a larger number. Call us if you want to talk about the main floor after the cafe closes, and we will say yes or no based on the week, not on a slogan.

Guarantee

The room is yours for the hours in the confirmation, the door stays shut, and we start on time if you are here on time. If we are the ones running late, the hired hours start when you actually get the room, not when the email said they would.

Conditions

Sixteen seats is the maximum on this form. No DJ, no outside caterer, music at speaking volume. Tell us about a cake. Cancel a weekday by the day before. Saturday inside two days may mean paying for food already bought, and only that food. The hire fee itself is for the room and the coffee service that comes with it.

Catering trays packed for a Port Melbourne office

Catering trays

From $19 a head

Catering is lunch that leaves the building, not a second restaurant with our logo on a van. There are three tiers in 2026. At $19 a head you get sandwiches, fruit, and a simple sweet. At $24 you get a hot tray, a salad, and bread. At $31 you get two hot dishes, a salad, and something from the pastry case. The minimum is eight people. Delivery is included for Port Melbourne and South Melbourne. Outside that map we would rather you collect from 115 Beach St than pay us to send a cooling tray across the river and call it service. Pickup is often the better plan if your studio is only a few blocks past the line, and we will say that instead of stretching the run.

We need at least one full day of notice, and a Monday tray needs four days, because Sunday is a thin market day and we will not promise produce we cannot buy. We do not cater weddings, and we do not send a cook to stand in your boardroom. In 2026 we keep this work to about eight drops a week so the cafe on Beach Street still has a lunch service of its own. Put the headcount, the tier, the address, and any pork-free or bread-free notes in the form. If the number is under eight, the form will not send. Add people, or come in and eat at a table, which is usually more pleasant than a tray for five anyway.

Guarantee

If a drop is running more than twenty minutes late, we call the number you gave us before you have to chase. A missing item comes off the bill. A hot tray that arrives cold is replaced if we are close enough to do it properly, and deducted if we are not. We do not offer a coupon and hope you forget.

Conditions

Eight people minimum. One full day's notice, four days for a Monday. Delivery only in Port Melbourne and South Melbourne. No weddings and no on-site chef. Dietary notes have to be in the form, with the same limit as the cafe: we can leave things out, and we cannot promise a sealed allergy kitchen.

How to order

Ordering is deliberately dull, which is what you want when the thing you need is lunch and not a treasure hunt. Pick the service on the card, or pick it again in the form if you scrolled here first. Add the date, the number of people, and a note a cook can use. Send it once. We read the inbox during opening hours, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm and weekends from 8 am to 4 pm, and we reply to the email you typed. Until that reply arrives, nothing is held. A form that fails because a date is in the past, a name is missing, or a catering order is for three people will say so on the page. Correct it and send it again. There is no popup and no second form hiding further down.

Payment happens in the cafe or when the trays are handed over. Do not put a card number in the note, even if you are trying to be helpful. We will delete that kind of message rather than store it. If you need the side room, say how long you want it and what you want to eat, so the confirmation can quote the hire and the plates separately. If you need catering, say which tier and whether we are delivering or you are collecting. If you are simply holding a Saturday table for six, the time and the name are the whole job. Allergies go in the same note, written the way you would say them out loud. We will repeat them back in the email so you can see we actually caught them.

If the form feels like too much, call +61413180751 or write to joleri@hotmail.com and talk to a person. The booking form below is still the copy we keep, so if you call we may ask you to send it anyway for the date and the headcount. Walk-in coffee and a slice at the counter never need this ritual. The button on each card only exists so the service menu is already chosen when the form opens, and so you do not have to remember whether we called it a private room or a side room. We call it both. The form calls it the private room. Either way the door is the same door.

  1. Choose the service and check the price, the guarantee, and the conditions on its card.
  2. Send the form with a date, a headcount, and a note the kitchen can follow.
  3. Wait for the email. That reply is the confirmation, not the moment you pressed send.
  4. Pay at the cafe, or when the tray arrives. Bring the dietary note with you in case the email was skimmed by someone hungry.

Seven things that make the order easier

These are not medals and they are not a ranking we invented to feel tall. They are the seven practical differences people notice after they have ordered more than once, written so you can check them against the way the room actually behaves. None of them depends on a timer, a fake crowd, or a discount that collapses if you read the fine print. If a week gets away from us, a Saturday queue or a sold-out special, we would rather lose one of these sentences for a day than keep it on the page as decoration. The list is short on purpose. A longer one starts to sound like a brochure, and the brochure is how cafes talk themselves into promises the pass cannot keep.

You will see the same ideas in the cards above, because they are the operating rules and not a separate marketing layer. The house card is the only soft benefit, and it is described again in the next section so nobody mistakes it for store credit. Joleri Cafe Pty Ltd is still a Beach Street cafe with 62 seats. These seven lines are how we try to behave inside that size. If we stop doing one of them, the page should change in the same week, not at the next rebrand. Amelia reads this list the way she reads the specials board: if it is no longer true, it comes off.

  1. The board matches the site

A price you read here is the price at the till in 2026, until we change both at once. The confirmation email then holds the figure you were actually quoted.

  2. A wrong order is remade

Coffee, plate, or tray item, if we got it wrong we replace it or take it off. You do not collect points while you wait for an apology.

  3. The side door closes

When the private room is yours, it is not a semi-private corner of the main floor. Sixteen seats, one table, a door with a latch.

  4. Catering stays on a short map

Port Melbourne and South Melbourne, eight drops a week. We refuse the longer jobs so the ones we accept still arrive hot.

  5. The same people, most weeks

Eleven staff in 2026, most of them past the trial-shift stage. The person who takes the booking is usually still employed when the booking happens.

  6. A card you can read

The house card is paper, or a name in the book. It is not a balance in an app that can vanish behind a login you forgot.

  7. A person reads the email

joleri@hotmail.com is checked during service by Amelia or the senior on that day. You get a reply, not a ticket number.

The house card

The house card is a thank-you for coming back, and it is smaller than the posters other places put in the window. After eight paid coffees, the next standard cup is on the house. A standard cup means an espresso or a milk coffee up to the price of a flat white. Mochas, extra shots, and the $0.80 alternative milk on that free cup are still paid, so the gift stays the drink and not a blank cheque. After six brunch plates in the same calendar month, your next visit includes one pastry from the case. In 2026 that is the whole program. There is no percentage off the bill and no double points on Tuesdays. The free cup does not vanish at the end of the day.

It lives on a paper card, or as your name in the book at the counter if the card goes through the wash. We do not keep a dollar balance, we do not let you cash the card out, and we do not sell it to someone else as credit. It is not a financial product and it is not a gift card. If you leave Melbourne for six months, the stamps wait. They do not expire in a blaze of terms designed to delete them. Ask at the till, or tick the box on the form below and we will add your name when we confirm the booking. A tick without a booking still works: choose any service, pick a date you might come in, and say in the note that you only want the card. We would rather that slightly odd email than a second form.

Staff are told to stamp the card when you pay, not when they remember at the end of a rush. If we forget, say so before you leave and we will fix the stamp. If the book and the card disagree, the higher number stands, because the mistake is usually ours. Amelia checks the book when she is on the pass. The program started in 2026 and it belongs to Joleri Cafe Pty Ltd, not to an app with a head office in another city. If we ever change the eight-and-one rule, we will say it here and at the counter before the change, and stamps you already have will be honoured on the old count. That is the entire promise, and it is short enough to keep.

  • Eight, then one

Eight paid coffees, then a standard cup on the house. Extras on that cup are still paid.

  • Six plates, one pastry

Six brunch plates in a calendar month, then a pastry from the case on the next visit.

  • Paper, or the book

A card you can hold, or your name written down if the card does not survive your bag.

  • Not a balance

Nothing to cash out, sell, or lose inside an account. It is a stamp, not a wallet.

Send the order

One form covers the booking and the house card. Choose the service, even if you only want your name in the book, and tell us the day. We reply by email during opening hours. If a required line is empty, or the request does not fit the room, you will see that here on the page and nothing will be sent. Fix it and try again. The cards above all lead to this same form, with the service filled in so you do not have to hunt for the right line in the menu.

Sending this note means you have read our terms of use and privacy policy. We reply by email during opening hours.
